Marcus Stoinis

Marcus Stoinis is an Australian all-rounder who has represented his country in all three formats of the game – Test, ODI, and T20I. He was born on August 16, 1989, in Perth, Western Australia.

Stoinis made his international debut for Australia in a T20I against England in 2015. He made his ODI debut in 2017 against New Zealand and his Test debut in 2019 against Sri Lanka.

Stoinis has also played in various T20 leagues around the world, including the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the Delhi Capitals and Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings), the Big Bash League (BBL) for the Melbourne Stars, and the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) for the Barbados Tridents.

Some of his notable achievements in cricket include:

  • Scoring 146* runs in a single innings for the Melbourne Stars in the BBL in 2019, which is the highest individual score in the tournament’s history.
  • Taking 3 wickets for 16 runs in the final of the 2020 BBL, helping the Melbourne Stars reach the final for the second consecutive year.
  • Scoring his maiden ODI century (the fastest by an Australian) against New Zealand in 2020, finishing with a score of 147* off just 79 balls.
  • Taking 2 wickets for 29 runs in the final of the 2020 IPL for the Delhi Capitals, although his team lost to the Mumbai Indians in the final.
