Curran made his debut for Surrey in the County Championship in 2015 and has since become a key player for the team. He made his international debut for England in a T20 match against South Africa in 2018 and has since played in all formats of the game for the national team.

In the Indian Premier League (IPL), Curran has represented the Chennai Super Kings and the Punjab Kings. He has been a valuable player for both teams, contributing with both bat and ball. In the 2020 IPL season, he was named the Man of the Match in the opening game after taking 3 wickets and scoring 18 runs off 6 balls to help the Chennai Super Kings to victory.

Curran is known for his aggressive batting and his ability to swing the ball with the new ball. He is also a handy bowler in the death overs of a match, with his ability to bowl accurate yorkers and slower balls making him a difficult bowler to face.
