West Indian opener Chris Gayle was the highest run-scorer of the 2011 IPL, amassing 608 runs in 12 matches at an average of 67.55 and a strike rate of 183.13. The left-hander hit two centuries and three half-centuries during the tournament, and was the main reason for Royal Challengers Bangalore’s success in the tournament. -
Lasith Malinga (Mumbai Indians)
Sri Lankan fast bowler Lasith Malinga was the highest wicket-taker of the 2011 IPL, picking up 28 wickets in 16 matches at an economy rate of 5.95. The right-arm fast bowler’s unorthodox action and lethal yorkers made him very difficult to handle, and he played a crucial role in helping Mumbai Indians reach the playoffs. -
Sachin Tendulkar (Mumbai Indians)

The left-hander hit one century and four half-centuries during the tournament, and was the main reason for Kings XI Punjab’s success in the tournament. -
Yusuf Pathan (Kolkata Knight Riders)
Indian all-rounder Yusuf Pathan had a great season with the bat for Kolkata Knight Riders, scoring 282 runs in 15 matches at an average of 35.25 and a strike rate of 145.61. The right-handed batsman hit one century and two half-centuries during the tournament, and was very effective in the middle order for Kolkata Knight Riders.
These five players were undoubtedly the standout performers of the 2011 IPL, but there were several other players who put up impressive performances as well. Virender Sehwag of Delhi Daredevils scored 424 runs in 11 matches, while Shane Warne of Rajasthan Royals picked up 13 wickets in 15 matches. Gautam Gambhir of Kolkata Knight Riders and Mahela Jayawardene of Kochi Tuskers Kerala also had good seasons with the bat, scoring 378 and 392 runs respectively.
